On Sunday 7th of November, The Chimes welcomed X Factor star Olly Murs to the shopping centre to officially turn on this years Christmas Lights along side Father Christmas himself.

It was a pleasure to have Olly perform at The Chimes and to turn on the Christmas Lights this year”, says Michelle Moffitt, Marketing Manager for The Chimes, 'It was a great evening with outstanding performances from Alicia Wilkins, Futunity and The Scarletz who have all performed at the centre before so it was a pleasure to welcome them back.’

All the fun kicked off at 6pm, hosted by Westside FM, and the main event was held inside the centre with Olly setting to the stage around 7.30 before turning on the lights at 8.00pm. Other entertainment included songs from Alicia Wilkins, amazing dance routines from group Futunity and finally the girl group Scarletz wowed the crowds.

Alongside all the Christmas excitement 100 lucky winners also got the chance to meet Olly in person before he went on stage. This was all part of The Chimes Facebook competition and was hugely popular, the winners were thrilled at the chance of meeting Olly and the atmosphere was incredible.
 
Father Christmas was there to make sure everything went off with a bang and lots of festive cheer.
